Specified and justified the requirements for the solution including (as appropriate) any hardware and software requirements [1].
‘Requirements’ here means the things you will need to develop your solution and also any requirements for your solution to run when it is finished. The higher mark bands require you to consider hardware and software requirements.
When considering requirements, it could be helpful to focus on unique or unusual requirements. Comparing the hardware of different PCs is likely unnecessary unless there is something unique about them. It could be appropriate to simply state the need for a standard desktop PC, depending on the details of your proposed solution.
You can justify requirements with reference to your similar product research. Remember that there is no need to rewrite evidence in full, simple page references or links can keep your write-up concise.
Moderators' report
Moderators note that “The hardware requirements section is a chance for candidates to highlight their knowledge of computer hardware, e.g. CPUs, RAM. The candidates who do the best at this, research the requirements for specific programs and use this as a justification” [1]).
